LEDC announces Tractor Supply is coming to Levelland

The Levelland Economic Development Corporation officially closed on the sale of the former ALCO building on Clubview Drive, Tuesday.

There was activity at the building Tuesday afternoon as contractors looked at the building.

The LEDC said the check received for the sale of the building was in the amount of $301,204. The LEDC bought the building for $300,000.

John Clary, executive director, said Tractor Supply would be moving into the building once it was renovated.
“Tractor Supply is indeed taking the property,” Clary said. “They will be utilizing the whole building and those contractors you see are getting started right away.”

Clary said they do not have an estimated completion date but said that unofficially, it should be by mid- to late-summer.

First thing the contractors need to do is asbestos abatement. He also said they still have to supply electricity to the property line, which would be a future expense for the LEDC.

John Agnew, city building inspector, said he did have the plans for the building but they had not been reviewed nor finalized yet. He also said a main contractor for the building had yet to be disclosed.

The development firm that bought the building is Ensign Development Utah, a preferred development firm for Tractor Supply based out of Salt Lake City.
