The Levelland Loboettes won their fourth straight district game at home Saturday by defeating the Brownfield Lady Cubs in three sets 25-6, 25-13 and 25-11.

The Loboettes came out the starting block strong in set one last Saturday.

Mental mistakes by Brownfield gave the Loboettes an early 6-1 lead.

A nine point run led by Alyssa Tienda forced the Lady Cubs to call a timeout.

Brownfield trailed the Loboettes, 15-4.

Levelland went on two win the first set, 25-6.

The Loboettes grabbed an early 1-0 match lead over Brownfield.

In the second set, defensive mental errors continued to plague the Lady Cubs.

Strong swings from Natalie Velardez and Makayla Escue helped the Loboettes build an 8-1 lead.

Escue also reeled off six straight points from the service line to extend the Loboettes lead to 14-2.

The Lady Cubs put together a couple of runs late, but it would not be enough for a win.

Paige Royal sent over her second ace of the match to close out set two, 25-13.

The Loboettes coasted to a 2-0 match lead over Brownfield.

In the third set, Levelland remained hot to start the set. Levelland grabbed a 5-1 lead over Brownfield and looked to run away with the match with a 9-2 lead.

But, a run by the Lady Cubs slowed the Loboettes momentum.

Brownfield climbed back into the game, but still trailed Levelland by two, 9-7.

The Loboettes regrouped and went on an 11-0 run to take a 20-7 lead late.

Velardez crushed the Lady Cubs’ chance of a comeback with a kill to give the Loboettes the set, 25-11.

Levelland won the match in three sets, and picked up the sweep over Brownfield 25-6, 25-13 and 25-11.

The Levelland hitters torched the Lady Cubs’ defense for 39 kills.

Paige Royal led the kill column with 14 in three games while

Natalie Velardez chipped with nine kills against the Lady Cubs.

Makayla Escue took seven kills on the afternoon.

Avery Reed, Alyssa Tienda and M’Kenzi Campbell each had three kills

Loboettes scored 12 service points of 12 aces during the game Saturday. Levelland also had single digit service errors.

Paige Royal led the team from the service line. She dropped five aces on the Lady Cubs’ defense.

Megan Latham finished the game four aces.

Natalie Velardez And Alyssa Tienda each ended the game with one ace.

Sydney Ramirez and Makayla Escue served for six points each.

The sweep over Brownfield pushed the Loboettes district record to 6-1.

The Loboettes carried their 6-1 record to Denver City Tuesday.

Denver City entered the game undefeated in district play with a 7-0 record.

A win Tuesday for the Loboettes would lock them in a tie with Denver City for first place.

A loss could possibly dropped them into a toe for second place with the Seminole Maidens.

M’Kenzi Campbell was the only Loboette to record a block during the game.
