ON TO THE NEXT ROUND--The Levelland Loboettes won the 2016 bi-district championship with a four set win over Pampa Tuesday. The Loboettes will face the Andrews Lady Mustangs in the 4A Region One Area round Saturday, November 5 in Denver City. The Loboettes outlasted the Pampa Harvesters in four sets 25-21, 25-17, 20-25 and 26-24 to
win the 2016 bi-district championship in Hereford Tuesday. 

The win Tuesday ensures that the Loboettes will face the Andrews Lady Mustangs the 4A Region One Area round Saturday, November 5 in Denver City.
The game is set to start at 2 p.m. 

Pampa opened the first set with a serve that sailed out of bounds to give Levelland a 1-0 lead.
Things stayed close in the first half of the set. At the 10-point mark, Levelland held a slight 10-9 lead over the Lady Harvesters.
Service received errors by Pampa helped the Loboettes build a five point lead.
Trailing the Loboettes 15-0, Pampa elected to take their first timeout of the set. 

Late in the set, Pampa crept back into the contest and cut the Loboette lead to one, 21-20.
Levelland did not panic, kills by Makayla Escue and Paige Royal gave the Loboettes some breathing room, 23-20. 

Natalie Velardez finished off the Lady Harvesters with her first ace and the Loboettes survived set one, 25-20.
Megan Latham got the second set started with four straight service points to give Levelland a 4-0 lead.
Halfway through the match the Loboettes still held a four point lead over Pampa, 12-8. 

Levelland extended their lead to seven, 18-11, late in the set. 

A hitting error by Pampa brought set two to a close. Levelland cruised to a 25-17 set victory.
Levelland led the match 2-0 and were one set away from a bi-district championship.

In the third set, Levelland dug themselves a four point hole, but bounced back to tie the game, 4-4.
The two team traded blows and neither could serve points in a row. 

Levelland built their biggest lead of the set, 14-12 but their lead would not last long.
Pampa scored three straight points to take the lead, 15-14. 

The Lady Harvesters’ momentum kept building and Levelland was forced to take a timeout trailing, 21-16.
Pampa kept their season alive with a 25-20 win over the Loboettes and forced a fourth set.
Levelland trailed by five points early in the fourth set, but rallied to tie the game, 8-8. 

Things remained even eight points later. The game was tied, 16-16.
Levelland pushed a couple of points in a row late and looked to be running away with the set 23-20.
Pampa refused to go down without a fight and rallied to tie the game, 24-24. 

A kill from Escue gave Levelland a 25-24 lead.
On the ensuing possession the Lady Harvesters made a defensive error and Levelland won the set, 26-24.
Sophomore hitter Makayla Escue carried the team with eight kills in set four.
The Loboettes won the match in four sets, 25-21, 25-17, 20-25 and 26-24. 

MaKayla Escue torched the Lady Harvesters’ defense with 15 kills. 

Paige Royal was the Loboettes’ second leading hitter with 11 kills. 

Natalie Velardez got on the stat sheet with seven kills. 

M’Kenzie Campbell and Alyssa Tienda each finished the game with three kills. 

As a team, the Loboettes collected 13 aces in their bi-district win.
Megan Latham ended her night with a team high four aces in the Loboettes’ victory. 

Sydney Ramirez, Natalie Velardez and Makayla Escue dropped three aces on the Lady Harvesters.
Escue led the defense with four blocks, and Campbell added three blocks to her stat line.
