The 2012-2013 school year officially closed Saturday when several hundred Levelland ISD employees gathered for a traditional service awards breakfast at the high school.
Supt. Kelly Baggett said the just-ended year had been a success.
‘What a great school year,’ said Supt. Kelly Baggett. ‘We are indeed blessed after what folks in West, Sandy Hook and Moore, Oklahoma have gone through.’
He thanked all of the employees for their hard work and dedication this past year. Baggett also praised them for their support of the successful $39.47 million bond issue.
‘We passed a $40 million bond issue,’ Baggett said.
Heidi Blair, director of curriculum, read the names of the employees who received service pins for their years with the district.
Mrs. Blair then read the names of seven employees who retired from the district this spring.
