Officials ask for patients after winds damage Ropesville

Ropesville city officials are asking for patience from the public, two days after the roof was blown off the city hall.

High winds tore off the roof of the building Wednesday night and dropped it 60 or so yards east of it.

The wrecked building was discovered about midnight Wednesday.

Rain water soaked offices below, damaging computers, other equipment and furniture.

‘We’re pretty bad off,’ Police Chief Ashley Ramirez said Thursday.

Ramirez was in the process of renting a portable building on Friday that will serve as a city hall for the time being.

It should be in place Monday, next to the current city hall, said City Secretary Vanessa Reep.

‘We’re calling electric people and phone people,’ Reep said.
