The High Plains Winegrowers Wine & Music Festival was a success and will be held again next year.
It will be tweaked, though, and could go to a Saturday, Sunday schedule, said Steve Newsom, president of the High Plains Winegrowers Association.
‘We learned a lot. Saturday was a great show, we had great turnout,’ Newsom said.
Nearly 400 people attended the festival Saturday, with ‘100 or so’ coming on Friday.
Most people work and that is probably a strong factor in the smaller attendance figures for Friday, he said.
Representatives from 14 wineries participated in the show and they appeared to appreciate the turnout by the public.
‘The wineries were very happy,’ Newsom said. ‘More than one said they sold out their products.’
While attendance figures were not available for the live concerts, Saturday night drew the largest crowd.
An estimated 400 people attended the two Saturday concerts, which featured William Clark Green and Mickey & the Motorcars.
