Scattered thunderstorms dropped varying amounts of rainfall across the South Plains area Monday night.
While there was some thunder, lightning and light hail in some parts of Hockley County, there was no damage reported.
According to Jan Anderson at Whitharral UCG, that area received 2.3 inches of rain, adding that she had gotten reports of 3-5 inches from people who lived between Whitharral and Anton. She said that Whitharral did have some hail and a power outage for about three hours.
Long ‘S’ Gin measured .75 inches, according to Prentice Fred. He said it rained hard but there was no hail or significant wind with the storm.
Anton showed a rainfall accumulation of .7 inches, according to Lisa Richardson, city secretary.
