LEDC approves memo on screening fence

A city board agreed Wednesday to the terms of building a screening fence at the Rail Park that will not cost more than $50,000.

The Levelland Economic Development Corporation board agreed to the terms of a memorandum from Shawn Kirkpatrick, executive director of the organization.

The metal fence will be 7 feet tall and not less than 1,400 feet long. It will be built on the top of a berm.

Kirkpatrick said that he and several board members recently met with several property owners to discuss the fence. They agreed to the terms of the memo.

Board member Sham Myatt asked if the terms of the memo will fulfill the LEDC’s obligation to affected property owners.
