A one-vehicle rollover early Saturday morning claimed the life of one man while critically injuring another.
Adam Lee Reyes, 24, of Levelland was pronounced dead at the scene at 4:30 a.m. by Justice of the Peace Jerry Boudreaux.
The driver of the pickup, 18-year-old Eddie Campos of Levelland, was taken by ambulance to University Medical Center in Lubbock. He was listed in critical condition after the accident.
The fatality accident occurred shortly after 4 a.m. at the intersection of Texas 114 and FM 2646.
Campos was westbound in a 2001 Chevrolet pickup when it went off the right side of the highway.
He over-corrected to the left and his vehicle went into a sideway skid. It entered the median and rolled three times, according to the Texas Department of Public Safety.
Reyes, who was not wearing a seat belt, was ejected from the vehicle.
He was struck by a Ford Mustang that was eastbound at the time.
The driver of the car, Harshit Atul Shah of Lubbock, was not charged, said Cpl. John Gonzalez.
An investigation into the accident is continuing.
