The 52nd annual Early Settlers’ Day celebration will kick off Saturday morning with a parade, live music and much more.
This year’s celebration, which has the theme ‘Wild, Wild West Texas,’ will start with the annual Levelland Morning Rotary Club’s pancake breakfast downtown.
The breakfast will be served from 6:30 a.m. to 9:30 a.m. near the corner of Avenue G and Houston Street. Tickets are $6 a person and the meal is free for children 5 and younger.
Registration for the Brooklyn’s Bridge Benefit Fun Run will start at 7 a.m. at the Mallet Event Center & Arena, 2320 S. U.S. Highway 385.
The 1K Kids Run will start at 8 a.m., followed by the 5K Run at 8:15 a.m.
The annual parade, expected to attract more than 100 entries, will start at 9:30 a.m. at 11th Street and Avenue H.
The deadline for entering the parade is 5 p.m. today at the Chamber of Commerce office, 1101 Ave. H.
Entries may be made after today but they will not be judged.
The parade, which is being organized by the Levelland Band Boosters, will head north on Avenue H and proceed east on Houston Street.
It normally lasts about an hour.
