Tony Hopp wins first week in 2013 football contest
Week one of the Levelland News-Press football contest is in the books.
Two players tied for first place by each finishing 18-2, while third place went 17-3.
Tony Hopp and Kylie Boggs each guessed 18-2 and the tie-breaker was used to determine first and second place.
The tie-breaker was 50 points, which was the combined score of the Levelland Lobo 26-24 win over Lubbock Roosevelt Friday night.
Hopp had a guess of 47 points for first place, while Boggs guessed 36 points to take second place.
Margaret Gleason was the only player to go 17-3, and took third place.
Hopp won $50, while Boggs will get $25, and Gleason will receive $15.
In the contest’S first week, everyone seemed to fare well with a slate full of high school football games.
