The Levelland school board accepted $800,531worth of construction bids Wednesday for remodeling Capitol Elementary.
Supt. Kelly Baggett said the project, which will be paid for out of bond funds, includes upgrading restrooms, installing new windows, and replacing the air conditioning system and windows.
The bids were opened Sept. 10.
Jim McCutchin, construction manager agent, took trustees through each bid.
The approved bids, including the type of work, the company and amounts, were:
Demo – ZM Interiors, $29,700; Site work – Royal Concrete, $15,703; Carpentry – Joe Huddleston, $6,700; Aluminum windows – Horizon Glass, $174,662; Drywall – ZM Interiors, $49,700; Ceramic tile – LVR Carpet, $32,350; Specialties – Peachtree Coverings, $28,765; Painting – Mendez & Son, $6,900; Furnishings – Williamson Interiors, $10,975; Toilet accessories/hardware – RSM, $15,033; Mechanical – 1st Class Plumbing-Heating & Air Conditioning, $305,293; Electrical – K-Bar Electric, $124,750.
