Gerald D. Davis takes top spot in contest

Week six of the News-Press football contest was a good one for a lot of entries.

Eight entries tied for first place with each one finishing 18-2.

The top three spots were determined using the tie-breaker score of 56 points, which was the combined score of the Buffalo 42-14 win over Eastern Michigan.

Gerald D. Davis, Betty Hodges, Eliseo Rocha Jr., David Hatter, Harvey Stephens, Frank Castillo and James German all went 18-2.

Davis took the top spot with a guess of 56 while Hodges placed second with a guess of 55 points, and Rocha Jr. had a tie-breaker guess of 53 points for third place.
Hatter guessed 51 points, Stephens had 49 points, German had 62 points and Castillo guessed 67 points.

In the high school games, the Morton loss to Plains caught a lot of entries off guard.

Everyone seemed to nail all the college picks.
