Citizens honored at annual Chamber fete

HONOREES – These members of the Levelland business community received leadership awards during an annual banquet Friday. Bill Thomman was presented the Main Street Hero award; Doug Hoelscher was honored with the Agricultural Excellence award; Sham Myatt was named Citizen of the Year; Chris Roberts received the Lifetime Achievement award; and Anna Hord was named Young Professional of the Year.
A new award, Business of the Year, went to the Levelland & Hockley County-News Press.
Denver Bruner, Main Street Advisory Board chairman, said that Bill Thomman is a ‘legend to our downtown and Main Street Program.’
Mrs. Thomman and her husband opened Thomman’s Gifts and Jewelry on the downtown square in 1961. It is still open six days a week.
