Five residents and a business  were honored with leadership awards Friday during the annual Levelland Chamber of Commerce/Main Street Program banquet.

Bill Thomman was presented the Main Street Hero award; Doug Hoelscher was honored with the Agricultural Excellence award; Sham Myatt was named  Citizen of the Year; Chris Roberts received the Lifetime Achievement award; and Anna Hord was named Young Professional of the Year.

A new award, Business of the Year, went to the Levelland & Hockley County-News Press.

Denver Bruner, Main Street Advisory Board chairman, said that Bill Thomman is a ‘legend to our downtown and Main Street Program.’

Mrs. Thomman and her husband opened Thomman’s Gifts and Jewelry on the downtown square in 1961. It is still open six days a week.
