It was a sense of being incomplete that got Jeremy A. Walker on the road to writing his first book.
Walker, the associate pastor at First Baptist Church in Ropesville, recently completed ‘Checklist Jesus – A Journey from Religion to Relationship.’
He calls it the result of a ‘two-year journey.’
‘It is intended to refocus the reader upon an overarching theme of relationship and fellowship rather than religion and rule-following,’ Walker said.
His experience growing up provided much of the impetus for the book.
Walker grew up on a Crosby County cotton farm and attended church on a regular basis. But something was missing.
‘I felt like mine and my wife’s upbringing was solid but a little incomplete because we were taught to be very rigid in our practice but not really solid in our relationship with God,’ he said this week.
