A man who was badly burned in a house fire Sunday died early Monday morning, authorities said.
Rodney Serenil, 55, died at Lubbock’s University Medical Center after being transported there by ambulance, said Fire Capt. Jay McKay.
The fire at the Belvedere Road home of Robert and Lucy Serenil occurred at 11:09 a.m.
Levelland firefighters responded to the scene after receiving a call about a possible explosion.
Heavy smoke was coming from the top and rear of the house when they arrived, a report said.
The victim’s brother, Bobby, who lives in a residence behind the Serenil’s home, entered the burning home. He and his oldest son, Joseph, pulled the unconscious man out of his bedroom.
Both Bobby and his son suffered smoke inhalation.
