Construction bids for the $5.4 million Levelland-Oxy Sports Complex were accepted Monday by a city board.
Bids were opened Oct. 1 and the numbers were ‘good,’ said Erik Rejino,director of community development.
Total costs came in at $5,402,757.
The breakdown, by category, was:
Construction, including Lee Lewis fees – $4,570,691.
Alternate parking including Lee Lewis fees – $149,936.
Parkhill, Smith & Cooper (engineering and design) – $424,856.
Five percent contingency – $257,272.
Funds for the extra parking will provide an additional 224 parking spaces, giving the project 579 spaces.
The city has $4,502,805 in bond proceeds for the work, as well as $1,166,124 that was generated by a quarter cent sales tax levy.
After the costs are deducted, the city will have $266,172 in remaining funds.
