Brenda Nock has been learning every day since she was appointed Pct. 5 justice of the peace.
Nock, who was appointed in July – after Jerry Boudreaux retired – is a Republican Party candidate for the position.
The incumbent says she likes the details that go with the job.
‘It’s interesting. I get to meet new people and I’m learning more and more every day about the law,’ she said. ‘If I have a question, I can look it up. There are resources I can go to.’
Nock has worked in corrections and law enforcement for much of her working life.
She was five years old when her family moved from Alabama to Lamb County. She attended school in Amherst and later went to school in Littlefield.
