LCDC recommends sharing cost of street, light projects

A board recommended Monday that the city share the cost of additional improvements at the new Sports Complex.

The Levelland Community Development Corporation made that recommendation after hearing an update on construction at the Levelland-Oxy Sports Complex.

City Manager Rick Osburn asked the board to consider the improvements.

It would cost about $100,000 to widen Equalizer Road to include a center lane for turning. The widening would start west of U.S. Highway 385 and near the east side of the property.

Osburn said 13 street lights  could be installed on the south side of the road for $70,000-75,000. The lights could be done in two phases.
