The Levelland school board adopted the 2014-2015 calendar during a brief meeting Thursday.
Aug. 25 will be the first day of classes for the new school year.
The new calendar contains some tweaks that will accommodate teachers, students and families.
School will let out Dec. 19 for the Christmas holiday, and students will return to classes on Jan. 6, 2015.
That schedule will give teachers and students three weekends off for the holiday break, said Heidi Blair, director of curriculum.
The new schedule contains 175 instructional days, four staff development days, three work days and five summer staff development waiver days.
Students will be off the week of March 16-22, 2015 for spring break.
The spring semester will end a day earlier than usual.
