Regents order May election, reviewing enrollment figures

South Plains College Regents ordered this spring’s election and approved an investment policy resolution while learning about spring enrollment, the upcoming scholarship gala,and a proposal to garner more federal funds during Thursday’s monthly meeting.

At the conclusion of the meeting, it was announced that incumbents Bobby Neal, Ken Williams and Ronny Alexander have all signed up to run for their positions on the board this spring. 

Neal has served on the board since 1992, Williams since 2010 and Alexander since June, 2012.

The election will be held this spring at the same time school board and city council elections are held.

Regents were advised that the college’s unduplicated spring enrollment was 9,018, down 4.1 percent. Enrollment included 6,001 students on the Levelland campus, 3,042 on the Reese campus, and 310 on the Plainview campus.
