City issues $4.23 million worth of building permits

A permit for a new apartment complex gave the construction  industry a major boost last month.
The city issued eight building permits worth $4,237,900 in January.

The largest one, worth $3,158,100, went to Zimmerman Properties LLC for an apartment complex in the 1000 block of South Alamo Road.

Four permits valued at $1,037,000 were also awarded for new homes in the city.

Sables Homes Inc. was approved for a $350,000 home on Bowie Lane, a report said.

Paxton Construction received a $340,000 permit for a home on Mustang Drive.

SMMP Construction was awarded two permits totaling $347,000 for homes on Mustang  Drive and Hartford Avenue.

One structure was demolished here in January.
