A county man who allegedly fired a gun at a drilling rig because it made too much noise for him to sleep was arrested early Saturday morning.
No one was injured and the man was taken into custody without incident.
Renary Rodriquez, 42, 6759 Filly Road, was charged with eight counts of deadly conduct/discharge of a firearm.
Rodriquez was arraigned Sunday by Justice of the Peace Sue Coker, who set bonds totaling $160,000.
Additional charges could be filed in the case.
Sheriff’s deputies Jeremy Ross and Derek Lawless went to Filly and Owl roads at about 11 p.m. Friday in reference to a threat being made.
A police dispatcher received a phone call at 10:58 p.m. from an oil rig worker who said a man had approached the rig and threatened to ‘shoot them’ if they did not shut down their operation.
