Anton woman killed in collision

An Anton woman died Tuesday afternoon when her vehicle was hit by a truck south of Roundup.
Kirstie Kay Watkins, 37, died at the scene.
The conditions of the occupants of the Chevrolet truck, Zachary Joe Bounds, 20, and 29-year-old Epufanio Salazar, both of Littlefield, were not available.
The accident occurred shortly before 2 p.m. Tuesday at the intersection of Maine and King roads.
Watkins was westbound on Maine while Bounds, who was driving the truck, was northbound on King. He apparently failed to yield the right of way and his truck collided with Watkins’ vehicle, according to the Texas  Department of Public Safety.
The truck rolled during the collision and landed on the driver’s side of Watkins’ vehicle.
Witnesses told authorities that one of the men managed to get out of the Lamb County Electric Cooperative truck.
Both vehicles came to a stop on King Road, facing south.
