Progress continues to be made on the Levelland Independent School District’s bond projects.
Construction crews have been working at all campuses except Carver Adult Learning Center in recent weeks.
Nearly $7.5 million has been spent so far on the $39.47 million bond issue, said Jim McCutchin, construction manager agent.
‘I would say we’re 20 percent finished,’ McCutchin said.
Part of the work has included the installation of energy efficient windows at South Elementary and Cactus Academic Center.
Nearly all of the windows are in at South while more than half of them have been installed at Cactus.
Besides saving energy, the tined windows are giving a pleasing look to the buildings, McCutchin said.
‘It has really changed the appearance,’ he said. ‘And above those windows there’s a metal panel. All of that is to be painted to match the windows. So it will really look nice.’
