Two teenage boys suspected of setting a truck on fire Monday morning at the high school were taken into custody, charged with arson.

The fire department received a call at 11:20 a.m. that someone had set a vehicle on fire.

A 2008 Chevrolet pickup that belongs to middle school coach D’Nae Wilson was on fire when authorities arrived at the south side parking lot.

Firefighters doused the fire and removed 10 bales from the bed of the vehicle.

Fire Capt. Jay McKay said the fire originated in the hay bales and appears to be the result of arson.

While en route to the scene,  police Sgt. Ty Land was advised by dispatch that three male juveniles had set the truck on fire.

A witness told police that one of the juveniles was wearing a red T-shirt and a red baseball hat.

Land saw a suspect matching that description walking west on Hickory Street.
