LISD receives $10,000 grant from Monsanto

Prior to the kickoff of the Levelland vs. Denver City football game, a big check for $10,000 from the Monsanto Fund was presented to the Levelland School District. The check was made possible through the support of area farmers who nominated the school district for Monsanto funds. Shown in the check-passing ceremony were local agriculture leader Jim Davis, Monsanto representative Larry Martin,  Levelland Middle School math teacher Gracie Ruiz, Middle School Principal Brad Clanton, Assistant Principal Colby Johnson and Director of Instructional Services Donna Pugh.  The money is being used to buy 100 graphing calculators to be used by eighth graders and 50 TI calculators which will be used by seventh graders. The new calculators are expected to last three to five years and will be used every day including during the STARR Test. Monsanto was thanked for its continuing support of education.
