LISD bond oversight committee reviews projects

Progress of the school district’s bond project, the amount paid so far for the work and rumors about the project were addressed Wednesday.

Supt. Kelly Baggett told the Levelland ISD’s Bond Oversight Committee that the district tackled a ‘lot of projects’ this past summer.

‘Lobo Stadium is rocking and  rolling,’ Baggett said. ‘The rains slowed us down.’

All of the work at Capitol Elementary is completed except for a new irrigation system, he said.

Workers encountered some serious sewer line issues at South Elementary, and renovating the Intermediate School will be a tough job, he said.

‘Our really big project coming up will be the Intermediate School,’ Baggett said. ‘It’s massive, it’s a tough project.’

Mike Baker, an architect with Parkhill Smith and Cooper, said new windows were installed at South and Cactus Academic Center this summer. Work is continuing on the Intermediate School’s auditorium and the science labs at the high school.
