Technology purchases were approved and tougher math curriculum was discussed Thursday by the Levelland ISD’s board of trustees.
School board members OK’d the purchase of 105 Dell Latitude E6540 laptop computers for $104,997. They will be distributed to teachers and 92 older laptops will go to the middle school and high school for use by students.
The board also OK’d the purchase of 60 Apple iPads for teachers, and two tablet management carts.
All of those items will cost $34,540.
Supt. Kelly Baggett said the new equipment will be paid for out of the $39.47 million in bond money.
Baggett said the district received two bids for underground irrigation systems at Capitol Elementary and Cactus Academic Center.
Trustees accepted a low bid of $156,860 from Jordansville Landscapes Inc. Turfmaster Irrigation submitted a $235,000 bid.
