LEDC board gets good financial news for month

The Levelland Economic Development Corporation had a financially sound month in September, board members were advised Thursday.

The LEDC received $61,628 in sales tax revenue in September, up 16.56 percent from a year ago, said Shawn Kirkpatrick, executive director.

‘We are in good shape,’ Kirkpatrick said, adding that sale tax receipts in October were also good.

A total of 430 rail cars came into the Levelland Industrial Rail Park in September, which was down from 591 the month before.

The LEDC received total revenue of $89,028 in September.

That included sales tax dollars, lease revenue, and rail park access and maintenance fees.

The agency agency had $1,051,140 in the bank at the end of September.
