More than $2 million worth of building permits were awarded here last month, putting this year on track for the busiest ever for construction in the city.
The city approved 180 permits valued at $2,395,390 in September.
So far this calendar year, city employees have awarded 766 permits with a value of $30,879,515.
Unlike August, though, there were no major commercial construction projects here last month.
The single largest permit – valued at $270,000 – went to Paxton Construction for a new home on Mustang Drive.
Permits for 12 new homes have been approved so far this year.
