Voters here and elsewhere will elect a new governor and other officials Tuesday, Nov. 4, during the general election.
In all cases, the polls will be open from 7 a.m. to 7 p.m.
Local residents should have their voter cards with them when they go to the polls. They must also have some photo identification such as a driver’s license.
Texas voters will cast ballots in such contested races as U.S. senator, lieutenant governor, attorney general and comptroller of public accounts and land commissioner.
They will also have the opportunity to vote on one constitutional amendment.
If approved, Proposition 1would allow annual disbursements from the state’s oil and gas production tax collections to the State Highway Fund.
