Snow and ice cause accidents and delays

ICY ROAD ACCIDENT – No one was injured Monday morning in a two-vehicle accident that occurred on FM 300 at Kelly Road, east of the Fairview Community. Chancelar Brown of Levelland was southbound on Kelly and was apparently going too fast when he hit an icy patch of road. He was unable to stop his pickup truck at the stop sign in time. Snow and ice and slammed the county Sunday and Monday, causing accidents and delaying classes for some schools.

While no accidents were reported Sunday afternoon, law enforcement officers responded to three Monday morning.

The first accident occurred shortly before 8 a.m.

A driver who was eastbound on Texas 114 collided with another pickup truck at Cedar Avenue.

The driver was apparently going too fast and lost control of  the truck on ice, striking the left side of the other vehicle.

No one was injured.

A second accident occurred shortly before 9:25 a.m. on FM 300 at Kelly Road, east of the Fairview Community.

The driver of a pickup truck collided with the right side of a trailer that was being pulled by another pickup.

No one was hurt in that wreck.
