A Ropesville man was appointed to the city council Thursday night.
The council voted 3-0 to appoint Ernest Montes to the position vacated by Joe Moudy, who resigned earlier this fall.
A lifelong Ropesville resident, Montes will fill Moudy’s unexpired term until next May.
He and Miles E. Evans both submitted letters to the city council stating their willingness to serve.
In his letter to the council, Montes stated that he wanted to ‘give back to the community’ and help residents to ‘take pride in where we live.’
