A 16-year-old Levelland boy was injured Tuesday morning after he crashed a pickup truck while fleeing from peace officers.
A city police officer attempted to stop the teen at 1:45 a.m. near Scooters convenience store for driving without headlights.
The teen fled and ran through a fence at the City of Levelland Cemetery on 17th Street. He knocked over two grave stones and damaged several flower containers before exiting the cemetery.
Three police vehicles and two sheriff’s deputies were in the pursuit.
It ended when the teen’s 2013 Nissan pickup went airborne at the railroad crossing at Avenue H and Texas 114, police said.
