Construction activity continued at a strong pace last month when $2.849 million worth of building permist were issued.
The city issued 214 permits in October, pushing the year-to-date totals to $33.728 million.
Most of those permits were for roofing projects.
‘We’re just over run in roofing inspections,’ said John Agnew, chief building official with the city.
Agnew said he and two other employees are struggling to make all inspections.
The city employees have been able to keep up with several large commercial projects that are under way.
This is the busiest year for the construction industry in Levelland in years.
‘It’s the busiest I’ve ever seen,’ Agnew said.
