Grand jury returns over 40 indictments

A Hockley County grand jury spent most of Thursday deliberating before handing down more than 40 indictments.

Elizabeth M. Hernandez, 23, of Levelland was indicted for possession of a controlled substance with intent to deliver.

Hernandez allegedly had 1.36 grams of methamphetamine in her possession Aug. 25, according to records.

Joanie L. Rodriguez, 38, of Sundown was indicted on two separate charges of forgery.

Rodriguez was in a vehicle that Sundown police stopped on Oct. 15, 2013.

Police found three checks – each written for $250 – in her possession. They were written on the bank account of a Sundown man.

The defendant was also charged with cashing checks on the bank account of an elderly Sundown woman in October 2013.

The grand jury indicted Martin Ralph Rodriguez, 46, for driving while intoxicated.

The Levelland man was speeding on Texas 114 when a state trooper stopped him Nov. 9, 2013.
