County commissioners approved the purchase of two new pickups Monday for the Sheriff’s Office.
They accepted a bid of $53,310 from Caldwell Country Chevrolet for two 2015 four-door crewcab trucks. That included $640 for a keyless entry feature.
Commissioners OK’d the purchase after discussing it with Sheriff R.C. Cheek for about 10 minutes.
‘Chevrolet is fine,’ Cheek told the Court.
Commissioner Larry Carter asked him what two vehicles the new ones would replace.
Cheek said they would replace a 2009 Ford and a 2008 Chevrolet.
The Court received five bids. The one from Caldwell was through the state Buy Board.
