Cochran County grand jury indicts six people
Six people were indicted Thursday by a Cochran County grand jury.
Anselmo Hernandez Jr., 28, of Morton was indicted for deadly conduct and unlawful possession of a firearm by a felon.
Deputies went to the 500 block of East Fillmore early the morning of Aug. 4 in reference to shots fired.
When a deputy arrived, Hernandez came outside holding a beer. The lawman found eight empty .22-caliber casings on the sidewalk and yard.
Lawmen found two handguns – one a .22, the other a 9mm – under a mattress in the home. Ammunition was also recovered, a report said.
Patrick Corrales, 37, of Levelland was indicted for possession of a controlled substance.
Corrales was arrested Dec. 11 at a vacant residence in Whiteface after deputies learned that a wanted felon was in town.
