Delays likely with two major projects

The Texas Department of Transportation (TxDOT) is set to begin work on two projects that will make major improvements to US 385 in Hockley County. The combined projects’ cost to completely rebuild the existing roadway from SH 114 to County Road Brazil and then from County Road Brazil to the Hockley/Lamb County Line is more than $20.8 million.
Major construction work on the project making improvements from County Road Brazil to the Lamb County Line is scheduled to begin Tuesday, February 3. Contractor Duininck Inc., of Roanoke, TX, will begin setting traffic barriers along US 385, at the Lamb County Line, early next week, said Steve Perez, P.E., TxDOT Littlefield Area engineer.
