Barbra Pinner believes that Levelland can grow and become an even better city than it is.
Pinner is a candidate for mayor in this spring’s election.
‘I just feel like it’s time for a change,’ she said. ‘I just want what’s best for our town. I want to see it grow.’
Pinner grew up in Odessa and attended Odessa College and then Texas Tech University. She met Jerry Pinner, who is from Levelland, and they married in 1973.
The couple moved from Lubbock to Levelland in 1974.
He opened the first new United Supermarket store in Levelland, later going to work in chemical sales.
She later worked for White Face Farms and retired as office manager in 2010. She worked 26 years for the outfit.
Pinner said Levelland has only ‘gotten better’ in the 40 years that she has lived here.
