Grand jury returns indictments
Indictments for drug possession, drunk driving and criminally negligent homicide were returned here Thursday by a grand jury.
Zachary Joe Bounds, 21, of Littlefield was indicted for criminally negligent homicide, a state jail facility.
Bounds was driving a Lamb County Electric Co-op truck when it collided with a car June 17, 2014 at the intersection of Maine and King roads.
He was northbound and failed to yield the right of way to a westbound car driven by Kirsite Kay Watkins, 37, of Anton. She died at the scene.
Investigators determined that Bounds had been using a cell phone before the crash, according to records.
Jeremy Jimmie Rodriguez, 27, of Levelland was indicted for theft of property, $20,000-100,000.
Rodriguez was suspected of stealing trailers, cut up iron, a storage tank and other items from Vernon Cox last July. The property was stolen near the intersection of FM 1585 and 303.
