Three sidewalk projects in downtown Levelland will start later this year, the city council agreed Monday.
The council authorized staff to proceed with the design and bidding of the three projects at an estimated cost of $160,700.
City Manager Rick Osburn noted that the council tabled action on the projects last month to see if engineering was needed for the work.
Osburn said city attorney Richard Husen determined that state law requires engineering on ìany public works project.
Thatís true, Husen told the council.
The three projects – or priorities – had been identified by Main Street officials, the Main Street Advisory Board and staff.
They are part of seven priorities costing nearly $344,000 that have been identified.
