After a record high year, construction activity slowed in Levelland during the first two months of this year.
Reports released from the city showed that 34 building permits valued at $590,413 were issued in January.
Twenty-eight permits worth $315,744 were approved last month.
No permits for new homes were awarded in either month.
The slow start for 2015 was not unusual, said John Agnew, chief building official with the City of Levelland.
ìItís just that time of year,î Agnew said. ìThey donít like to start new homes during the winter.
In January, the largest permit awarded was for $250,000.
It went to McCutchin Construction for a new commercial building project in the 1900 block of West Avenue.
