Total Loss

Levelland fire Capt. Jay McKay sprays a single-engine airplane that caught fire Monday afternoon at Levelland Municipal Airport. Wolfforth resident Casey Timmons was working on the aircraft when it caught fire. He pushed it out of the hangar and called 911. Timmons was not hurt. Levelland firefighters quickly arrived at the scene but were unable to save the craft. Timmons, who is a cropduster, was doing conditioning work on the plane so that it could be certified. The plane was insured but replacing it and all that he had in it could total $80,000.
