LEDC hires search firm for new director

The Levelland Economic Development Corporation agreed Monday to hire a search firm to find a new executive director of economic development.

After meeting briefly in closed session, the board authorized President Elgin Conner to enter a contract with Strategic Government Services of Keller.

The company will seek a replacement for Shawn A. Kirkpatrick, who is leaving this week after heading the LEDC more than three years.

Last week, the LEDC accepted Kirkpatrickís resignation and named city staffer Erik Rejino as interim director.

Rejino will also continue to serve as the cityís director of Community Development.
