It could be weeks – if not longer – before a grand jury reviews a police shooting that left a Levelland man dead.
District Attorney Christopher Dennis said he has received limited information from the Texas Rangers on the case.
Jose Antonio Ruiz Espinoza, 55, died Jan. 23 after being shot by two police officers outside his Avenue A home.
A preliminary autopsy in the case states that Espinoza was shot multiple times.
Two officers went to his home in reference to a domestic disturbance the morning of Jan. 23.
Espinoza allegedly threatened the two lawmen with a knife and both officers fired their service weapons outside his home.
