Heavy rains cause flooding, accidents
A heavy downpour triggered widespread street flooding and a few accidents Monday in Levelland.
No one was seriously hurt in a chain collision accident shortly before 8 a.m. at Texas 114 and Alamo Road.
Rain was falling heavily when a westbound Lubbock driver failed to stop in time for backed up traffic. Her car struck a stopped pickup truck, which knocked it into a third vehicle.
The driver of the third vehicle complained of pain. She was examined by EMS personnel and released.
The driver of the car was given a citation for failure to control speed.
A woman escaped injury when her car skidded off U.S. Highway 385 shortly before 9 a.m.
