Heavy thunderstorms brought rain, hail and high winds to the county Thursday night.
No major damage was reported.
Pea-size hail and .60 of an inch of rain fell in Ropesville, according to Brian Lehrmann, manager of Ropes Farmers Co-op Gin.
Lehrmann said that 1.25 inches of rain soaked the ground four miles west of Ropesville.
Lehrmann said several thousand acres of cotton have already been planted in his area, but plants have not yet germinated.
The storms dropped about an inch of rain in Sundown.
Whiteface received .75 of an inch of moisture, said City Secretary Belinda Terrell.
