Unusual Visitor

A Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft paid a visit to Levelland Wednesday morning.

The crew of the craft, which can land either vertically or horizontally, was  A Boeing V-22 Osprey tiltrotor aircraft paid a visit to Levelland Wednesday morning conducting touch and go exercises at Levelland Municipal Airport.

It was believed to have flown here from Amarillo, where the aircraft are built.

Airport manager Richard Harvey said the planes appear here sporadically, sometimes every few months.

They usually fly to Plainview before coming to Levelland.  

Each Osprey costs more than $70 million to build.
